Will To Live Online
Will To Live Online - Game Review
Will to Live Online is an MMORPG-shooter that has a lot of
survival elements thrown into it. The story is set in the wasteland of the
post-apocalyptic world Players must explore and survive in this vast open world
that you can imagine, full of dangerous spaces, radiation, mutants and armed
survivors.
We know that the world seems to be recovering from its
former self and a shell of nature but the destroyed areas that were once
maintained by humans. In a nuclear post-apocalyptic world, you have to be at
the pinnacle of intelligence and skill to survive everything you throw away. An
MMORPG that is roughly similar in shape to other games of its kind where you
are a survivor, fighting animals, monsters and other players, what does it take
to stand up against a game like Destiny or other MMO type games? This is our
first impression of Will to Live Online.
The story
The background story is that everyone uses the radioactive
material they call "NDP" for future technology work projects - from
teleports to healing and everything in between. Then one day something bad
happened somewhere. Really bad.
To start the game, you wake up with a serious case of
amnesia in a city hospital. Seriously, you can't think about who you are, what
your life goals are, and so on
When you are trying to pick it up, you have to deal with a
lot of external threats. Read: Different types of mutants and monsters. There
are many 'M's' and they range from ugly spiders and giant rats to some very
perverted (and angry) mutants. There's also an epic adventure master, so have
fun if you chat with your group!
The Will to Live uses one of the most classic MMORPG
experiences around online gameplay: conducting searches to talk to NPCs in
cities and locations, fetching a certain number of items, exploring a specific
location, or killing certain enemies. Or without any boss involved. After that,
you'll return to the Quest giver and receive your reward (XP and items) for
completing. It is a tried and tested system that gives a slight twist but
works.
In addition to the searches, there is obviously character
progress. At each level you will get skill points to upgrade your abilities.
The four available character classes develop their own skill trees and features
as well as determine skills with each specific weapon. Game World is completely
open, excluding protected cities, such as early cities, which require a
transition zone to isolate and transcend the rest.
Utility functions are also already present, such as creating
groups with friends so that their location is always visible on the map, a set
of custom markers for locating with a minimap and description. This enhances
the overall quality of life of the game. Special focus has been placed on arms
and calibers. Different types of ammunition such as FMJ or HP will work more or
less effectively depending on the target you are using.
Exploring the world freely without engaging in any
exploration is also an effective activity, but you will soon encounter enemies
outside of your level and so you will not be able to progress without further
experience like any MMORPG. Of course, there is also a market for buying and
selling equipment and players can accumulate rare and valuable assets when an
area where these items grow is discovered. I still haven't seen any presence in
the player market like Auction House, but maybe it will be implemented.
There is also a team system where players can join different
teams and then be friends or foes of other players on the same or different
team. Here, you'll find team-specific searches, rewards, and gear from group
vendors.
There are plenty of dialogs and scripts to explore with the
various major NPCs you encounter, and reading and learning about the zone and
its history can be interesting. The bad part is that the English translation is
just awful. A few sentences would make little sense if spoken in broken
English. Hopefully it will get better in the future, but considering the game
is mainly in Russian, it can hardly be expected.
Maps and voice chat
The map is huge. There are deserts, timber, wetlands,
underground bunkers, canyons. The game is huge, and varied.
Another great thing about this MMO survival aspect is that
it has the feeling of playing a real role because everyone can talk in the game
(not chat with the keyboard). Also, you want to make sure you are always on the
alert (except for safe zones / shield zones). There are some safe areas,
turrets and guards, so you may want to think twice before popping up in this
area.
If you get killed in the game, you will lose some items
found throughout your journey. If you do not want to conflict with other
players, certain servers will allow you to avoid PVP (at least level 15).
War system
The combat in this game is basically firearms based, even if
the blows are very effective it comes. There are different types of weapons
like pistols, assault rifles, DMRs, sniper rifles and even explosives. For most
of them it is necessary to use not only money but also a minimum level. The
songplay is quite basic and doesn't really give a good feeling. The arms feel
clunky and a bit off, but that can vary from personal experience.
As it is an MMORPG, the level and gear will have a heavy
effect on the outcome of the fight, especially if it is PVP. However, I noticed
that the weapons hurt the players considerably because I was only able to kill
several level players from me with a pistol and some decent targets. This may
be less true for higher levels where armor and the like become more powerful.
Fighting monsters and animals is straightforward because the
crowds are divided in the field. Attacking one will not attack the whole field,
but only one at a time. So far, so good. I don't know if there are special mobs
who attack all at once if provoked. Using long-range weapons such as rifles
against PVE enemies is a very good idea because if they are not bosses they
will probably die before they reach the blow range.
If you die in battle you will lose some random items from
your inventory, among the unprepared things. These can also be search items, so
being dead is definitely not a good idea! You can go back to where you died to
get the things you threw away, unless another player goes there first and
steals it, which of course happens. As far as I have seen the experience is not
affected by death.
If you are not interested in PVP you can go to a PVE server
and this is a good option for some types of players.
Content
Currently 35 levels of experience need to be improved, which
will take about 100-125 hours to complete. If one wants to have more than one
character, multiple classes will be used and leveled, and there are multiple
groups to join. Overall, if you don't mind the inherently repetitive nature of
MMORPG, there is plenty of content right now.
Balancing
I did not find any specific problems in the balance other
than the safe zone problem explained by the war department. I think, at the
time of death, search items should be dropped from the list.
Challenge
This game can be any challenging MMORPG. Levels and tools
are important in PVE while goals and skills are most important in PVP. It's
probably a little more than other MMORPGs, and that's fine.
Overview
Will to Live Online is a post-apocalyptic MMORPG set in a
world devastated by a catastrophic and mysterious event. The environment in
which it is set is inspired by the nuclear post-apocalyptic classic, especially
Stoker, and has a very similar setting. You will disguise yourself as one of
the many survivors and try to make your way through the wasteland monsters by
fighting monsters, animals and other players. The RPG aspect of the gameplay is
very strong with the already existing quest, number of losses, level
progression and skill tree.
From developer Systemsoft Corp, we've got a foothold in this
game and there are some things that will make today's game look just like any
other online game. For example, there are some NPCs that give you a search and
expect you to do that search in exchange for a reward and some level of
experience. What kind of search? Definitely a MMORPG shooter, there will be a
variety of quests that allow for more in-depth gameplay. You would think so and
you would be wrong, this game has a cookie-cut feeling for other big games, go
out and get me five mushrooms, kill me 10 rats, oh I have to hide from that
wild dog. The questing system is like most games available today, MMO or not.
Yes, there are bosses to fight, but with limited weapons and resources, you
have to count every shot. Does the system work? Yes, it does, and it is a tried
and tested method of leveling used around the industry.
Character development is another major issue for most online
role-playing games, and this is true of Ring Will to Live online. There are
four classes to choose from and each of them gives you a different style of play
to move forward. Each class has its own unique skill tree and their own
specific weapons that they use. The entire post-apocalyptic world, including a
few safe zones within cities, is open to you, allowing you to search for a safe
haven, recover your weapons and supplies, and breathe through the monotony of
similarly created NPC-provided searches. . The Open World feature is a great
way to explore without having to search, just remember that any venture outside
the safe zone is risky, and if you are not properly prepared you could end up
with death.
General MMORPG features like mini-maps and grouping with
your friends are still available in this game. You can mingle with your buds
and take pot shots on giant rats, wild dogs and anything else of your choice in
the desert. It's up to you what you want to use against the mentioned creatures
as this game has many different weapons and lots of ammunition to choose from.
I think they are trying to create a realistic shooter with all the different
choices available for shopping in the game. The game even offers you a fantasy
system that lets you join and do missions specifically for your chosen team.
You will find specific experiences and gear from the search for your selected
teams, which are likely to be hostile to other groups.
Like any MMORPG, Apocalypse has a story behind it, which
includes scripting for the main character and NPC and everyone in it. When you
first enter the game and read some text you get lost and confused or you think
the script was written by Yoda himself. The scripting itself isn’t terrifying,
and it does provide some good background about the game and the area you visit.
The reason for the bad translation? This game is basically made in Russian
language and you can understand it when you hear voice actors speaking Russian
as their mother tongue.
The desire to survive in online warfare is quite basic and
it is set up for most firearms, although there are knives for attack. Weapons
have been set up for pistols, DMRs, sniper rifles, assault rifles and more.
Weapons are quite basic for the game and each has a different caliber, as
mentioned earlier. As your character level increases you can also buy weapon
levels. These levels will help you in PVE and PVP as you need to be properly
prepared for most of the higher level opponents. When fighting something in
PVE, usually multiple mobs can't attack you at once, but I haven't seen
anything that a large enough swarm will attack at once. If you run through an
open field, it will create a lot of crowd around you so be prepared to run or
fight. One last thing about war you want to remember: if you die and you die,
you will lose some items from your inventory and have to go back to recover
them. Remember, if other players run over your corpse, they will be able to
loot your corpse as well.
Will to Live Online uses Unreal Engine 4 as its favorite
engine, even saying that the game's graphics are similar to those of previous
games. The models suffer from low poly and the rest of the environment suffers
from a lack of similar details. The quality varies from one enemy to another,
which gives an adequate view of the graphics in this game.
Will to Live Online is in early access and is still being
worked on, and hopefully the game will get updated graphics and other key
upgrades throughout the initial access period to do something good enough for
the full launch. The translation of the script can use a good western
localization. If these things are updated I would like to take another shot at
the game.
Summary
Will to Live Online is an MMORPG-shooter with survival
elements. Its story is set in the desert of the post-apocalyptic world. Players
need to explore dangerous open spaces, radiation, mutants and the large open
world of armed survival while learning more about their past.
